We’re kicking this year off with our National Iyengar Yoga Day events for new students in less than two weeks. Please do share these with anyone you know who might be interested, as we’d love to welcome some new members into our community! Teachers, if you could also share this with your students we would be very grateful!
National Iyengar Yoga Day is a yearly event organised by IYUK and its member groups to promote Iyengar Yoga, inviting new students to come along and try out classes with local teachers.
These events are primarily aimed at new students, but existing students are welcome to come along if you’re bringing friends and family along to give it a go!
This year we’re hosting one event in Southbourne, as well as another event in Upton. Please help us share these events with anyone you think might be interested!
We’ve added a few more events to our roster for 2026, with one more event still in the works for the end of the year, which we’ll let you know about once we’ve finalised the details.

This Month’s Community Events
Through December, our community is hosting the following events:
Workshop with Cheree Low @ Dorchester Yoga and Therapy Centre
Sat 10th Jan 1:00pm - 4:00pm
This three hour workshop will explore the relationship between the body, mind and breath in a sequence of poses that leads the student from the outside in. 1 year Iyengar yoga experience required.
Monthly General Workshop
Sat 24th Jan 11:00am - 1:30pm
A regular monthly general workshop for all regular Iyengar Yoga students at Upham Village Hall, Hampshire, with Level 3 teacher, Rachel Lovegrove. All abilities welcome. Some experience of inversions would be preferable and an ongoing practice of Iyengar yoga desired. Level 1 and 2 teachers and trainees can also join the Peer Group teaching practice in the afternoon (see separate event listing). Participants can also join in online and a recording is sent out to everyone afterwards.
